Firstly, download the 528kB installer, Microsoft Image Resizer.
Remember to keep track of where you downloaded the file

After the download completes, run the installer by double-clicking ImageResizer.exe.

The installation does not offer any instructions,
but it's very easy to use, as you'll see.

Using Microsoft's Image Resizer PowerToy!

Step 1: Browse your machine for the folder containing your photo(s).
Right-Click on the photo you wish to resize: You should notice the command near the top of the menu, "Resize Pictures".

Step 2: Click the Advanced Button.
You need to be able to specify the size of the picture.

Step 3: Enter 500 for the width and height & Click OK!
500 is the maximum pixel dimension we accept at this time.

Step 4: Ready for upload!.

If you did not check "Resize the original picture(don't create copies)", a new file will be created with "(custom)" in it's name.
